How does CCLB relate to community colleges? | CIITE - College Integrating Immigrants to Employment - Language Proficiency Project CCLB and specific Ontario colleges are working together to assess the use/role of CLB in the colleges
Ontario College Writing Exemplars The Ontario College Writing Exemplars consists of three main elements: A bank of student writing samples A rating system comprised of Descriptors and Rating Scales Supporting materials, including identification of the writing tasks, commentary on the writing samples, and a glossary of relevant terminology. The Ontario College Writing Exemplars identifies correspondences between its own four levels of writing performance and the CLB Writing Benchmarks. The specific writing features identified in our rating scales draw directly from the Canadian Language Benchmarks.

What new projects is CCLB involved in that will be useful to ESL professionals? | Further support for ESL Professional in the use and application of the CLB The CCLB is developing an online ontroductory module to inform teachers new to working with CLB.
Administration and Supports for Assessment Centres Support for the use of the following new assessment materials: Development of an online self-assessment tool (in English and French) referenced to the CLB 2000 document (CLB 1 -12) Coming soon. CCLB and CET are working together to develop a tool to self-assess reading and listening competencies. Literacy Placement Tools Phase II Coming soon.
Workplace Language Assessment (WLA)To provide assessment, of higher–level language proficiencies (CLB 7-10) of clients seeking entry into workplace-related training opportunities such as bridge to employment opportunities. (Not available at this time.)
